Caitlin Drey won a state house seat in Iowa. Now the bad news.

Today social media is cheering that Caitlin Drey, an Iowa Democrat, won a state house seat that previously went Trump +11.

If you look at what she ran on, she wasn't exactly sticking her neck out. From the website:
"Her priorities include affordable, accessible childcare, protecting bodily autonomy, expanding equitable access to healthcare, fully funding public education, and building real pathways to economic mobility".
What does "accessible childcare" mean? "Protecting bodily autonomy"? Why not say pro-choice? WTF does "expanding equitable access to healthcare" mean? Why not just say Medicare for All? "Fully funding public education". Does this mean charter schools too? "Building real pathways to economic mobility". C'mon man, this is lame.
Her platform was carefully concocted by the Democratic establishment to pitch her as a safe Democrat, the kind that's been losing elections. Kamala ran on a similar platform in the 2024 Presidential election. That didn't go so well.
Could anyone in Iowa easily explain what Caitlin is about to an apolitical neighbor? Or even more important could anyone in Iowa easily explain what Caitlin is about to younger people, the ones who don't vote, because they don't know what Democrats stand for?
Putting forth gibberish platforms and being not Trump is not gonna cut it.
If Democrats want to regain power they need to put together a simple platform that millions can get behind and easily tell others about. That is, an updated version of FDR's Economic Bill of Rights.
